Biography
Barbara Karant is nationally recognized within the design, art, and architecture communities for her distinctive photographic vision. She is a published author, an architectural and interiors photographer, an artist, and an educator. Her work has been widely exhibited in galleries and museums throughout the United States and abroad and is held in both private and permanent collections, including the Minneapolis Institute of Art; The Art Institute of Chicago; Saint Louis Art Museum; Cantor Arts Center at Stanford University, Stanford, CA; The Museum of Modern Art, New York; Sheldon Museum of Art, Lincoln, NE; and the Chrysler Museum of Art, Norfolk, VA. Karant’s commissioned photography has appeared in various publications including Architectural Digest, Metropolis, Architectural Record, Interior Design, Chicago Magazine, Domus, Esquire, and The New York Times. Karant lives and works in Chicago.
